Hunting Places

The Flint Hills of southeastern Kansas holds a small gem known as the Lone Pine Hunting Preserve. Lone Pine offers Controlled Shooting Area (CSA) hunting under the rules and provisions set by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Hunts for pheasant, chukar, and quail are conducted on over 600 acres of prime hunting ground in Toronto, Kansas. You can bring your own dogs or hunt over Lone Pine’s string of Brittany’s free of charge.

Beth’s Great Grandfather, Lewis Klick, homesteaded Lone Pine Farm in the 1880’s. And now visitors can book a field hunt for upland birds, request a European shoot for fast action, or schedule a time to sit in a blind waiting for a turkey or deer to come within range. When you’re at Eureka for Nationals, be sure to swing by and say hello to Mike and Beth. And tell them you read about them in the GSP Chronicle!
